  • Sunday 9/2

We're still in Tampa visiting with family, they're a little camera shy so you may see some ducks, dogs or the lake...   Cell service is not so hot out here either so if you're not seeing video give it a few, we're probably in a dead spot.

Tomorrow I fly back to DC, Natasha stays here with her family until Wednesday.  BACHELOR TIME!  Get ready for strippers, Taco Bell and all sorts of drunken goodness...

    Happy Labor Day!

  • This Weekend

Okay!  I'm sure you're going to have tons of questions about what you're seeing on the Kane Kam this weekend.  My show is also on in the afternoons on 93-3FLZ in Tampa and on major weekend holidays they take over a beach resort called Shephards.

If you don't see video today it's probably because I'm on a plane or in a place with bad cell service.  You'll have to keep yourself entertained from 12n-3p today because we'll have to turn it off for airport security as well as on the plane (plus I'll be trying to get some hot airport beej action like that senator..).

At 3, you'll see us heading to the beach and me doing my show live until 7p.  I'm sure Nat will be on chit-chatting while I do my thing, and drink.

  • SUNNNN DAY

After sleeping in a bit this morning, I have a lot of showprep to do.  You may see me sitting around on the laptop today and not chatting.  I need to get the show together for tomorrow and it usually takes me a few hours to get everything together...

I'm going to wear the camera on the elliptical later today, wonder how that's going to look.  If you see bouncing up and down, it's not sex.  Sorry.

Then we're off to the dog park.  These mutts need to get out of the house.  With all of the rain this week they've got a lot of pent up energy.

    Tonight! 7p!  Open House Party!

  • SATURDAY NIGHT

Welcome y'all!  Special hello to Open House Party listeners too!  If you're just tuning in, we're heading out to Georgetown for dinner with Sarah from the show and my boy Bodhi who works for XM... THEN off to Samy's frat party around 10.

    Have fun spying on us!

  • Welcome to the Kane Kam

Day 2 of our lifecasting experiment!  Check out some of the Frequenty Asked Questions:

-"OMG! I can't believe you're just sitting/standing/laying there doing _________!": Duh!  You're watching my life!  Imagine what you would look like if you watched TV, took a nap, etc..  Besides, you're not doing anything more interesting if you're sitting there WATCHING me doing nothing

-"Kane is on his computer, but he's not talking in the chat room...": I'm probably doing showprep, reading and searching the net for fun things to talk about on the show.  I'll usually prep for 4 or 5 hours a day.  Or I'm downloading porn.  Either one.

-"What kind of dogs are those?": Parker is the Sheltie, he's 5 years old, 28 pounds and VERY high strung.  You'll notice that Parker will watch TV and frequently get pissed at what he sees.  He enjoys barking at the television and pacing around growling. We'll often call Parker "Sir" when he's mis-behaving. Lucy is our Golden, she's 2 1/2 and 75 pounds.  She doesn't give a crap about anything but food, pooping and making sure she's right next to one of us. We think she's a bit on the s-l-o-w side and you may hear us imitate her by lowering our voices and speaking slowly with a lot of "ummm's."  What Lucy lacks in brains, she makes up with heart.

-"Does Natasha like this?/How did you get her to agree to this?": HA! No.  She hates it, but I think it's growing on her.  Deep in the back of my mind, I think this might keep her on her best behavior for the next 30 days.  Score one for me.  She didn't really agree to it either.  I kinda talked to her about it and then we started doing it.  As much as I joke about her, she's the best wife ever!  If you're married would you let this happen in your household?  Probably not.  We do our best to support eachother, even if it means a little inconvenience.

-"How can you broadcast from anywhere?": The fine folks at Xanga hooked me up with a "broadcast backpack" that has a IBM laptop, extra battery, webcam and cell card.  When fully charged the batteries will last 9 to 11 hours and because everything is broadcast with the cell card, I'm transmitting anywhere the backpack gets cell service.

-PEOPLE: That you might hear us talk about

    - Kane/Pete: This is me.  I'm also called Boo, Buddon, etc.
    - Natasha: My wife.  She's the brunette.  I call her Boo, Nat or Biscuit.
    - Jill: Kane's sister who works on TV's & Movies in L.A.
    - Sarah/Ed: Sarah is the co-host of the Kane Show, Ed is her 39 year old boyfriend.
    - Samy/Mary: Samy is the other 3rd of the Kane show, Mary is his giiirrrrlll friennd.
    - Jeff/Laurie: Jeff is my boss, Laurie is his wife.
    - Mom/Chris: Kane's mom and step-father.
    - Sam/Ann: Kane's dad and step-mother
    - Mom/John/"the kids": Kane's inlaws
    - Dad/Debbie/Elisha: More inlaws

    I'll be adding more... standby!

About Me

  • Kane is the morning show host for Hot99-5/Washington DC and afternoon host for 93-3FLZ/Tampa Bay. Kane wasn't always the center of attention -- or very popular. Growing up in Danbury, CT. he was ran with the geeky "art" crowd. Picked on by jocks, made fun of by the burnouts and turned down by the cheerleaders, Kane had an uneventful childhood. Rather than dating, he spent time drawing and doing creative stuff. He also interned for WKCI-FM, KC101 in New Haven, CT. where he painted offices, cleaned vans and was accused of sleeping with the Program Directors wife (he was only 16). It was then that his passion behind radio was fueled. He continued to drive an hour to intern for free until he graduated high school in 1995. Kane was accepted to Syracuse University's school of Visual and Performing Arts and was going to pursue a career in advertising and design. While attending college, he volunteered for Z89, one of the two radio stations operated by the University. Still very green,
